The Ironside Coffee Co are a Family and Veteran Owned Coffee Business who have been operating out of Canberra, ACT since March 2019.
Since its establishment as a mobile coffee van, the Ironside Coffee Co has grown to have its own specialty coffee range, merchandise and wooden flags that are sold online and dispatched all over Australia as well the Ironside Coffee Co Podcast, which primarily focuses on leadership, professional development and other related topics.
At Ironside Coffee Co, we love coffee and people. Everything we do is driven by our dream to build and lead a large team of likeminded (coffee loving) people who love what they do and strive for 100% customer satisfaction.
Ben served for 19 Years in the Royal Australian Armoured Corps as a Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle Crewman, completing Operational Deployments to East Timor, Afghanistan and Iraq. After discharging from the Australian Army in 2017, Ben established Aquilifer Leadership, a frontline leadership consulting company that aims to adapt lessons learnt from the battlefield, and use them to support frontline leaders in the mining and construction industries. Ben is the the "Ideas Man" behind the ICC and all of its initiatives....and loves all things involving leadership...hence the Ironside Podcast and thrives working with the ICC Team, to make the ICC deliver its best at each and every turn.
Nyomie Horton is the Co-Founder and head barista of Ironside Coffee. Nyomie served in the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police for 14 Years as a General Duties Military Policewoman and an ADF Investigator, completing deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Nyomie is also the Co-Founder of Aquilifer Leadership, a frontline leadership consulting company. Nyomie is driven by people and is passionate about delivering an awesome "ICC Experience" to each and every customer...whether they be online, retail or at the van and is motivated to give 100% to every one of our supporters.
Amity.....otherwise known as the Hot Chocolate Barista (HCB) is Ben and Nyomie’s daughter and the head of the Babycino and Hot Chocolate Research and Development Division. Her feedback was key in the development of Ironside’s Belgian Blend 58 Hot Chocolate. Amity loves to help out with the family business...whether it be stamping cups or making "How to Tutorials" for the YouTube Channel.....while she wants to be a Zookeeper when she grows up....Amity is keen to make coffee and hot chocolate for the masses in the interim.
Love our wooden flags? You have Sarah (who is literally a part of the family being Ben's sister) to thank for this, she was solely responsible for getting Ben's brainchild....The Ironside Wooden Flag Division up and running in 2019 and worked her hands to the bone in doing so. Sarah knows the joys of Defence life all too well, having served in the RAAF and having her Hubby serving in the Army at present. Sarah is currently on hiatus with the ICC to allow herself time to focus on her family and their new addition who is due in late 2020. The ICC Family look forward to welcoming Sarah back when she is settled and ready, in whatever capacity that is.
Siobhan is the first person to join the ICC Team as a Barista in Jul 19. Siobhan makes a mean brew and has a knack for latte art. You will see Siobhan running the ICC Van at our weekday morning spot and events. When not making coffee, Siobhan loves to lavish her horses with her time, attention and training and competes in show jumping and various other competitions in the horse world. The fact that she has horses makes her a solid legend in the eyes of the HCB.
If you ever receive a friendly follow up phone call from the ICC Team; chances are, it will be Georgie you're speaking with. As the Customer Service Representative on the ICC Team, Georgie conducts the follow up to ensure customers are happy. Georgie also works hard engaging with various businesses to score the ICC Van gigs and retail suppliers. Georgie is currently studying Physiotherapy at UC and in her spare time, is a talented watercolour artist who loves to hang with her hubby and fur babies.
We know the excitement....you see your parcel on the doorstep and you give a yip that your coffee has arrived, which is an awesome feeling...but wait...you open it up to see that it's been carefully wrapped and packaged with a handwritten note. That's Shamani's handy work you see. As the Team ICC Retail Sales Associate, Shamani looks after all customer orders, ensuring that they are all individually packed with care and sprinkled with love and a touch of pizazz. Shamani is currently studying Exercise Physiology at UC and loves spending time with her family and pooches.
If you haven't picked it already...there seems to be an emerging theme here in the ICC Family....not only do we love coffee....but we love our animals. Therefore, it only seems fitting that we introduce Dixie! Dixie is the official attack dog of Ironside Coffee Co and a massive coffee fiend. Dixie can seek and destroy a rogue coffee been from 100 metres away....pretty impressive...but frustrating as we are well aware are that caffeine consumption by dogs is a no go...try telling Dixie that.
